A Week in Food: Day 4

Thursday was the first day in this “Week in Food” where I faced a social challenge. My sister-in-law is graduating from grade school this month, and the school held a special ceremony known as the May Procession. My beautiful sister-in-law was honored during this ceremony by being chosen to be the May Queen.

The food challenge surrounding this event was simply one of planning. The ceremony started at 7p.m. There was no time to eat a real dinner and make it from work to the Procession on time. My dinner consisted of some pre-packaged snacks. Not an ideal meal under ordinary circumstances, but having the right items in my glove box for a dinner on-the-go made it manageable by my Weight Watcher point standards.

FYI: I don’t recommend opting for fiber bars and beef jerky over a real dinner when a real meal is available.

My Sister-in-Law, The May Queen

Thursday (22 point target, no activity points, 29 flex remaining)…

Breakfast:
20oz cup of Wawa coffee with ½ cup fat free milk.
Deep Chocolate Vitatop.
Total: 140 calories, 1.5g fat, 9g fiber = 2 points

Breakfast Day #4: Coffee, Vitatop

Lunch:
Smart Ones fettucini alfredo combined with 2 cups steamed broccoli and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
Total: 280 calories, 5.5g fat, 6g fiber = 5 points

Lunch Day #4: Fettucini & Broccoli

Snack:
Sugar free cherry Jello mixed with 1 can of no sugar added fruit cocktail.
Total: 180 calories, 0g fat, 3g fiber = 3 points

Snack Day #4: Fruit & Jello

Dinner:
2 South Beach protein bars.
1 100 Calorie Pack mixed nuts.
1 package Jack Link’s beef jerky.
Total: 500 calories, 20.5g fat, 7g fiber = 11 points

Dinner Day #4: Snacks On-the-Go

Dessert:
2 gala Apples
Total: 160 calories, 0g fat, 10g fiber = 3 points

Dessert Day #4: Apple Slices

My total for the day, came to 24 points. That’s another 2 flex points used.

For non Weight Watcher members who opt for calorie counting, my totals came to: 1260 calories, 27.5 g fat, 25g fiber.

Good for you for coming up with a plan to stay within your points for that day. It sounds like it was tough, but you made do. I like the idea of the sugar free jell-o with the fruit coctail. I’ve never thought of trying that before!
